Kami Spa -Oriental Spa in Rome

Kami Spa -Oriental Spa in Rome

This week, I have been asking around for a spa in Rome where they speak English.  After getting a few recommendations, I decided on Kami Spa for a few reasons.

First, it’s easier for me to get there as it’s only a few minutes walk from Barberini metro and secondly, since it claims to be an “Oriental Spa in Rome”, I just curious as to what they offer.

I love the decor in the place and with all the wooden furniture, it almost feels like my own home! It has been tastefully decorated in Oriental style and yet at the same time it was modern.

It was a nice blend of pleasant visuals, sounds and smells which created the atmosphere you would want from a spa. From the second, I walked in, I was impressed, not only by the decor but from the service I received.

It’s been a while since I have received a service way beyond my expectations. I was well taken care of and it was the small details that made a huge difference.

When I first got there, they invited me to take a seat and offered me tea and water.  I had already booked my treatment but wanted to see what other services they offered and therefore, asked for a spa menu.

The receptionist, who was Thai, politely handed me their brochure and briefly explained the different services they offered.  She didn’t feel pushy and I never felt pressured to “buy” other services.

I was then introduced to the therapist who spoke English and showed me the way to the room. The therapist was very professional and as I just wanted this as time out for me, I was glad she wasn’t chatty.  Conversation was kept to a minimum and she only occasionally checked if I was comfortable.

As you can see below, the treatment room is simple – not fancy at all compared to the common areas of the spa but it was clean.

However, I was told that they also have a suite room available for certain treatments. So if you want to be really pampered, you will need to look at their Asian Packages which will lasts anywhere from 2h 30 mins to 4h 45mins and cost-wise, from €250 – €400.

After my treatment, I proceeded down the elevator to the reception area.  I was again asked if I wanted some beverage and I requested for some tea.  This time, it was served with some nuts and dried fruits.  Very nice touch! You could take time to sip your tea and there is no sense of them rushing you to pay.

When I was ready, I went to the reception to pay and while most places would probably ask if you would like to make an appointment for the next visit. Instead, they just greeted me with “Hope you will be back again soon.  Thanks for coming”.  It was a nice surprise!

As you can probably guess from the decor, Kami Spa is a bit pricey but from the service I got, I was happy to pay the price because they went beyond my expectations.  It was also a nice break from the eating marathon I had with my sister but after my treatment, I met a friend for Chinese food.  So much for taking a break from eating!

Overall, I walked out extremely happy and hope to be back soon. This will be my go-to spa when I feel like I need some pampering.

  1. The waiting area looks nice and right treatment room looks too simple.
Was the massage pressure good enough for you? Also what massage
did you end up getting and how much was it?

    • Yes it was and that to me is key. This treatment room is simple and wonderful what the suite one would look like. If I decide to splurge (unlikely), I will take a package and see if it is outstanding.

  2. Sounds like a very nice place indeed!
